At Edex, we not only teach the prescribed curriculum but also encourage our pupils to respect others and to be gentle to animals, flora, and fauna. They also learn how to be generous, compassionate, and empathetic. Besides this, the kids are taught qualities like self-control, self-reliance, and justice. We further enhance their knowledge of Islamic teachings of the Quran and Sunnah.
PLAYGROUP (3+ to 4 years)
The Playgroup is a child’s first school experience. Children who attend Playgroup are better prepared for a preschool programme, for their comfort level has been set for progression towards formal schooling.
During Playgroup, children are encouraged to develop and grow through play. They interact, learn games, participate in arts and crafts, sing nursery rhymes with music, and are introduced to exercises in practical life. Parents are required to actively participate to ensure the success of the programme.
NURSERY (4+ to 5 years)
The Nursery class curriculum adopts a fine blend of a variety of methodologies in combination with ‘project-based learning’. This approach is flexible, dynamic, and aims to ensure maximum development of the child.
The nursery curriculum is organized into six areas of learning:
- Personal, social, and emotional development
- Communication, language, and literacy
- Mathematical development
- Knowledge and understanding of the world
- Physical development
- Creative development
KINDERGARTEN (5+ to 6 Years)
In the year before primary school, each child gets involved in working with hands-on material that stimulates all senses. Exercises are carefully sequenced so that each activity has an orderly and logical process to follow. Children are helped to organize their thinking and problem-solving skills. Elements of literacy are developed to have an easy transition to senior classes.
Special emphasis is laid upon table manners and etiquettes at all levels in the Pre-School.
